At the Airports Centre of Excellence we see Innovation as a crucial aspect to learning and action, especially in terms of problem solving, process improvement and cleverly connecting to likely futures. Innovation can also significantly impact staff engagement and motivation across the culture because at its core innovation is of course about behaviour and leadership too.
Within an airport’s ecosystem, where everything is connected and not otherwise, innovation methodology can undoubtedly be employed to impact the passenger experience, radicalise queuing scenarios, help to deal with increased capacity and even enable the drive to digital solution. ACoE are therefore delighted to announce our latest member Enabling Innovation Partners, one of the UK’s leading learning & development consultancies. With a genesis in academia and innovation research EIP’s clients include the likes of Arup, 3M, Infineon, Scottish Water, Banco Santander and the Scottish & UK Governments among many others; working at the sharp, practical end of culture & systems build globally.
Whatever the key issues our aim is to provide tailored, focused and specific action led learning – based on real opportunities or problems facing teams and operational areas. Alternatively we can create a general workshop approach toward ‘starting points in innovation culture’ structured around:
- Creating Space for Innovation: physically, virtually or operationally
- Taking Action: idea generation and implementation on real issues
- Creating Systems: simple filters, communication channels & solver communities
- Alignment: of strategy, leadership and systems to flourish innovation
In the search for excellence open innovation, design led innovation and breakthrough thinking all have their place so we hope to include these aspects and best practice example in all our learning interventions.
ACoE will work with Enabling Innovation (and other members) to provide innovative and world class solutions for airport operations and improving the passenger experience. The recently launched ACoE continues to build its community of members.
